Disneyland Paris is so close to the UK and you would think it’s the cheapest option for British visitors rather than travelling all the way to Florida’s Walt Disney World… but is it?

A new era has dawned at Disneyland Paris (DLP) with the opening of Adventure World and new Frozen attractions in March.
The rebranded former Walt Disney Studios Park still includes big hitters for all the family including Marvel, Spiderman, Toy Story and Cars rides.
Paris has two parks in total with this and the original Disneyland Park.
It does have a lot of the same rides that Walt Disney World (WDW) has and some of them such as Thunder Mountain, Tower of Terror and Pirates of the Caribbean are arguable better versions.
And of course it’s a hop, skip and jump from the UK.
So we looked at prices (correct as of 21 April 2026) for a family of four heading on a two-week holiday on 15 August 2026 staying on site at Disney for two weeks with hotel room only accommodation and theme park tickets for the length of the holiday.
Disneyland Paris
- Disneyland Hotel – £16099,
- Art of Marvel £11188,
- Hotel Newport Bay Club £9110,
- Sequoia Lodge £8547,
- Hotel Cheyenne – £7471,
- Hotel Santa Fe £7630
In comparison, Florida’s Walt Disney World is huge. It has four theme parks – Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom – plus two water parks – Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon.
It also has lots of hotels to choose from including Value, Moderate and Deluxe resorts.
So again, we looked at prices (correct as of 21 April 2026) for a family of four heading on a two-week holiday on 15 August 2026 staying on site at Disney for two weeks with hotel room only accommodation and theme park tickets for the length of the holiday.
Walt Disney World
- Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort £3489,
- Coronado Springs £4702,
- Port Orleans £4769,
- Caribbean Beach £5569,
- Contemporary Resort £7547
- Grand Floridian £9569

What about flights?
The best flights we found to Paris were a bargain – £198 return for a family of four from Birmingham to Paris with Ryanair. That was without luggage and it was to Ryanair’s Beauvais airport, which is quite a way out of Paris.
The best value flights we found to Orlando were £2253 for a family of four with Virgin Atlantic from London Heathrow. These were indirect with a stop in Atlanta on the way there and New York on the way back which made it 19 hours each way in total.
So adding in flight prices the cheapest Orlando option All-Star Movies is £5742 and The cheapest Paris option Hotel Cheyenne is £7742. That makes Florida a whopping £2000 cheaper than Paris!!!
Now admittedly you might not want to do DLP for two weeks with it just having two parks but we wanted to do the comparison for families wanting a longer break.
A shorter trip departing on the same day to DLP was £2320 at Hotel Cheyenne for four nights and five days in the parks without flights. So shorter trips do seem the best option for Paris.
Also there are ways to make trips cheaper like staying off site in both Orlando and Paris – check out our other articles for money saving tips.
