One thing’s for sure, when you step foot in Walt Disney World, you’re never more than a hop skip and a jump away from your next snack.
In fact when Walt Disney first dreamed up his first park – Disneyland in LA – he wanted the food there to be part of the attraction, taking on the Disney theme to enhance visitors’ experiences and bring his stories to life.
I think we can safely say the Disney parks have delivered on this and then some but what are our standout sweet snacks?
Here’s a few of them – we’ve left out Funnel Cake and Dole Whip as they feature in our Top Disney Snacks article – check that out next!
Petite Mickey Mouse Dome

This little sweet treat, from Amorette’s Patisserie, makes the trip to Disney Springs worth it in itself. We think it’s one of the prettiest desserts on Disney property and more importantly tastes as good as looks.
It’s part cake filled with dark and white chocolate mousse and comes in a cute little box to take away – mine would never last the journey home. It’s definitely better enjoyed in the patisserie though with a spoon, as it could be a messy affair on the go! These domes also come in Minnie, Donald, Pluto and Goofy themes if Mickey isn’t your favourite – with slightly different flavours.
Coming in at $10, we think it’s definitely worth that price tag for the decoration and deliciousness.
Wookie Cookie

Calling this a cookie is a little deceptive as I feel this could be a meal in itself! This little number is available at quickserve restaurant Backlot Express in Hollywood Studios and is a good call for Star Wars fans on there way over to Galaxy’s Edge.
It’s basically two oatmeal cookies sandwiched together with vanilla cream and a cute little Wookie sash decoration on the front. Our little Jedi certainly loved it on our latest trip to WDW!
At $6.99 it’s not too badly priced for the size of it -it’ll definitely keep you full for a while.
Cinnamon Roll

I’d heard so much about this snack, it was on my must-have list on our last WDW trip. For anyone who doesn’t know, you can find the cinnamon roll at Gaston’s Tavern, which is a quickserve restaurant at Magic Kingdom. I just loved Gaston’s, OK, Beauty and the Beast is a big favourite of mine but it’s hard not to love the theming of the restaurant and plus you get the chance to take a picture with the Gaston statue outside.
Like a lot of snacks in WDW – this roll is huge! I split mine with my youngest son and we were both happy with the amount we got. The icing is amazing on this warm cinnamon roll – apparently you can ask for extra icing but we didn’t go that far. Next time, we’re trying the grey stuff, which I hear is delicious.
At $6.99 for a roll that fed two, I am certainly not gonna complain to Gaston! He does eat five dozen eggs after all.
School Bread

You have to head to Norway at Epcot’s World Showcase to enjoy this little delight – to Kringla Bakeri Og Kafe to be precise. It is quite devisive as some people love it and some people hate it but I’m definitely in the love camp for the School Bread.
It is basically a bread roll filled with custard and dipped in coconut with a swirl of custard on top. But for me coming off the Frozen ride and heading straight to the bakery for a School Bread and a coffee really hit the spot. It’s probably one you can’t really justify sharing given the size of – I didn’t want to try anyway!
This snack is $4.99, so the cheapest snack on the list – not bad for Norwegian prices!!
Double-Scoop Ice Cream Cone

I think the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor is a real treat when you’re heading out of Magic Kingdom. We sampled their delights mid-afternoon on our way back to the hotel pool though as I think queue levels would be too high near closing times.
We sampled chocolate and cookies and cream and were not disappointed. You could say ice cream is ice cream but this is really good and it looks like Mickey, so what’s not to love.
At $7.79, it is on the pricey side for an ice cream but did I mention it looked like Mickey? 😆
Croque Glace

Well, I really have saved the best ’til last because this is a gem of a sweet snack. You can find the Croque Glace at L’Artisan des Glaces in France at Epcot’s World Showcase. And believe me it was well worth the trip.
The Croque Glace is a beautiful creation – a toasted brioche bun filled with your choice of ice cream and sauce. Just watching it being made is a work of art. The server lovingly draws a Mickey shape on your brioche and then fills it with ice cream before quickly toasting in a sandwich press. We chose the cinnamon apple pie ice cream with toffee sauce and it was heavenly!!
Coming in at $10.95 it is the most expensive snack on our list but it was really worth the splurge. You have to treat yourself while in Paris – right?
