Bistro Chez Remy at Disneyland Paris review: Did Remy win us over?

Front of Bistrot Chez Rémy

It’s one of the most sought after dining spots in Disneyland Paris and was number one on our list to try on our last trip – but did Remy cook up some magic for us, or leave us ratty? (sorry 😄).

We had bagged a reservation for the first day of our DLP holiday, so we were pretty worn out as we made our way through the enchanting Ratatouille courtyard to the restaurant.

Sadly the Ratatouille ride wasn’t operating for our trip but we could still get our Remy fix in Chez Marianne – the Ratatouille-themed gift shop and of course at Bistrot Chez Remy.

Anticipation was building as we huddled in the waiting area, which was full of little Easter eggs like Gusteau’s Anyone Can Cook book displayed on the wall.

But the fun really began when we were shown to our table by our server as the doors flung open to reveal the bustling bistrot – with oversized plates, cutlery and champagne corks for tables with cocktail umbrellas. Here humans are the size of rats and can experience the world through the eyes of Remy and his friends.

We were on the Disneyland Paris Dining Plan, so could have the three-course Emile menu which is 55 Euros for adults and the 30 Euro Little Chef menu for children.

We all chose the seasonal soup with soft cheese and herbs, which was delicious – it came with a good helping of bread and butter too. Our liitle diner had the carrot soup which was also good and quite similar to ours.

Next for the main event we all chose grilled steak and french fries, which of course came with a little helping of ratatouille. I opted for the bearnaise sauce, which was lovely but my husband and son opted for the brie sauce – great thing to try in France – this was excellent and really good with the french fries.

The steak was tender and really favourful and the ratatouille was quite tangy but a great accompaniment to the steak and fries.

Our little diner had the chicken fillet with cream cheese sauce and said it was simple but amazing.

Then I think he definitely got the best end of the deal on dessert as he opted for the Remy eclair which was beautiful.

But I chose Gusteau’s dessert – a cream-filled pastry with a picture of Gusteau himself on top and the others went for chocolate mousse which was delicious but very rich.

Honestly, we were blown away by the atmosphere and service – our waiter was so attentive and just made the experience extra special for us.

We’ve been to a lot of great themed restaurants in Walt Disney World but this actually topped them all for us. With perfect theming and delicious food, I think it should be a must-do for anyone heading over to DLP.
