A trip to Walt Disney World is a dream holiday for many UK families – but there’s no secret… it can cost a lot of money.

Prices vary depending on the time of year, flights, hotel choice, park tickets, and dining plans, but, as a general rule, you should budget a few thousand pounds for your trip.

To give you a realistic picture, we’ve looked at live package prices in early 2026 using Disney holiday packages and typical add-ons such as the 14-Day Magic Ticket.

Read on to find what UK families might expect to pay.

Ways UK families can save money

If you’re worried these costs feel overwhelming, don’t worry – there are ways you can bring them down:

  • Travelling outside of school holiday periods is a great way to make savings, if you’re able to – we saw savings of around £300 on the same holiday in September vs July.
  • Staying off-site is another good way to reduce costs. Remember to budget for transport to and from the Disney parks, either via car hire or cab services.
  • Use flight comparison sites, such as Skyscanner, to make sure you’re getting the best deal on your flights.
  • Changing the day of your travel (midweek, rather than Saturday) or your destination airport (Tampa or Sanford) can also help you save.

Our tip: To help bring the price of your holiday down further, look out for the deals Disney frequently offers to UK visitors. Disney package deals for UK guests often bundle 14-day tickets with hotel stays. Discounts on hotels or a free dining plan (Disney’s version of all-inclusive) are also typically offered throughout the year. If you are restricted to school holiday travel, which time of year offers the best value? And when should you book your break?

Surprisingly, we found the UK summer holidays can be one of the more cost-effective times for parents with school-age children to visit Walt Disney World. While European package holiday prices often peak in August, Orlando can be quieter during the last two weeks of the month, as US schools begin to return.

However, be prepared for the conditions. Average temperatures in Orlando during July and August reach as high as 33–35°C, with humidity making it feel even hotter. On previous visits, we have found early mornings and evenings are the best times to explore the parks during these months and would advise returning to your hotel or booking a sit-down meal during lunchtimes to dodge extreme midday heat.

When it comes to booking, spring can be a good time to secure your Disney break, as the famous Disney free dining plan deal is often announced mid-April. At other times of the year, booking around six to nine months before your planned holiday can often help you access the best prices.

Keep in mind that major school holiday periods often coincide with seasonal events such as Halloween and Christmas, which can push prices higher. All prices below are based on two adults and one child and include flights, hotel rooms, park tickets and – in some cases – some free dining. Cheapest time to go to Walt Disney World from the UK

If you have flexibility on when you travel, visiting outside of UK school holidays can reduce the cost of a Disney World holiday.

Flights, hotels, and packages can work out cheaper during quieter periods when demand is lower.

Generally, the cheapest times to visit Walt Disney World from the UK are:

  • Mid-January to early February
  • Late April to mid-May
  • September
  • Early December (before Christmas)

These months fall outside major school holidays in both the UK and the US, meaning fewer visitors and more availability.

Travelling at this time may also mean:

  • Shorter queue times for popular rides
  • Better availability for restaurants and experiences
  • More hotel options and flight availability

However, there are a few potential downsides to consider:

  • Some rides (and even parts of your hotel) may close for seasonal refurbishment.
  • Weather in January and February can occasionally be cooler or rainy. This often comes as a surprise to UK visitors, but temperatures in Florida during these months can drop to around 5–10°C on colder days, particularly overnight. While this is still warmer than the UK, it can feel cool when combined with wind or rain.
  • Certain seasonal events – such as festivals – may not be running at these times.

In our experience, September and May are among the best months to visit, thanks to the balance of good weather, lighter crowds, and lower prices. That said, the savings can be modest – sometimes just a few hundred pounds – so don’t assume an off-peak trip will automatically be a bargain. Always compare prices against peak dates before you book.

To illustrate how prices can vary, we looked at a sample 2026–2027 holiday for two adults and one child staying at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort.

While you might expect significant savings outside peak summer, the reality is often more subtle:

MonthPrice (£)Difference vs July% Difference vs JulyDining Plan
January£8,051−£536−6.24%❌ Not included
June£8,390−£197−2.29%✅ Included
July£8,587——✅ Included
September£8,295−£292−3.40%✅ Included
November£8,690+£103+1.20%✅ Included

As this example shows, the difference between peak and off-peak travel can sometimes be relatively small – in this case, only a few hundred pounds.

It’s also important to look beyond the headline price. For example, January appears cheaper, but does not include a dining plan, which could significantly affect overall value. Meanwhile, September and June offer moderate savings while still including dining.

For UK visitors, a Disney trip is made up of several major costs:

Flights

Flights from the UK to Orlando International Airport (MCO) typically cost between £600 and £1,300 per person one-way, depending on the airline and time of year. Here’s a snapshot of typical fares for 2026:

DepartureMonthOne-way PriceReturn PriceNotes
London Heathrow → OrlandoMay£776£829Economy, standard seat, checked baggage
Manchester → OrlandoMay£1,222£1,225Economy, standard seat, checked baggage
London Heathrow → OrlandoAugust£1,114£1,114Economy, standard seat, checked baggage
Manchester → OrlandoAugust£1,101£1,101Economy, standard seat, checked baggage

Tips:

  • Prices fluctuate based on season, airline, and availability.
  • Booking early often secures better rates.
  • Check for additional baggage fees if not included in the ticket.

Hotel

Disney resort hotels range from:

  • Value resorts: ~£150–£250 per night
  • Moderate resorts: ~£250–£400 per night
  • Deluxe resorts: £500+ per night

Park tickets

UK visitors often buy the 14-Day Magic Ticket, which includes access to the four theme parks, water parks, and park hopping.

These tickets typically cost around £400–£700 per person, depending on offers.

Dining plans

The Disney dining plan is a prepaid meal package offered to guests staying at Disney resorts. While it doesn’t usually save you money, many guests appreciate the convenience of prepaying for many of their meals. Disney dining plans can add roughly £700-£1,400 per person to a trip, depending on the level of plan chosen. To find out more about the plans, see our guide to whether the Disney dining plan is worth it.

What’s the total cost of a Disney holiday?

As you can see, the cheapest holiday for a UK visitor staying at a Disney park in 2026, including park tickets but without a dining plan, works out at around £3,604.

The most expensive break, staying at a deluxe resort and including park tickets, but without a dining plan, works out at around £9,000.

For most UK families, a two-week Disney holiday costs somewhere between £8,000 and £12,000, depending on the hotel, flights, and time of year.

While it’s certainly not a cheap holiday, careful planning – and keeping an eye on Disney’s special offers – can make the trip far more affordable.

And the magic? Absolutely worth it!
