It’s one of the most sought after reservations at Disneyland Paris but did the Royal Banquet get our seal of approval?
Nestled on the first floor of the beautiful Disneyland Paris Hotel lies the Royal Banquet restaurant.
How much is the Royal Banquet at Disneyland Paris?
It’s a character buffet restaurant and because of its location and grandeur, it comes with quite a hefty pricetag of 100 Euros per adult and 50 Euros for children.

At the time we went, you were only allowed to go into the Disneyland Hotel if you were staying there or if you had a dinner reservation, so this was a great opportunity to have a look around.
And wow, the hotel is stunning, so grand and elegant – and that’s just the lobby. We made our way up the beautiful staircase to the first floor, down an equally beautiful corridor with display cases full of crystal Disney ornaments and souvenirs.
I had to make a very swift visit to the store as we made our way down, they had had a fresh delivery of DLP Hotel Loungefly bags which looked really cute and lots of other beautiful things.

As you step into the Royal Banquet you can’t help but be bowled over by the grandness of it.
As we entered the restaurant, we were blown away. The walls are adorned with royal Disney characters from over the ages, and everywhere you look there are elegant touches.
And the theme of grandeur continues into the buffet. There is a huge array of seafood – you can just grab halves of lobster, oysters, smoked salmon among other delicacies as you wish.

For mains you can choose from duck en croute, beef, game like venison and other meats.
There are of course kid-friendly options like mickey waffles and one of my personal favourites was cheese ravioli in the shape of Mickey.

But the highlight has to be the huge array of desserts. You have the white chocolate Bayou desserts in the shape of Tiana, the raspberry-flavoured Enchanted Rose from Beauty and the Beast, a beautiful tower of macarons and the grey stuff also makes an appearance.
You also have standard things like chocolate tart and carrot cake which are beautifully done.
What characters are at the Royal Banquet, Disneyland Paris?
And of course there are the characters. Mickey, Minnie, Daisy and Donald come round in their regal attire to your table, which is really special.

Is the Royal Banquet at Disneyland Paris worth it?
So on paper, this restaurant is absolutely fantastic and in real life we had a brilliant time, however there are a few downsides that mean it will in all likelihood be a once only time visit for us.
Firstly it is busy, as hectic as Chef Mickey in Walt Disney World (WDW) easily and we were a little bit squashed into a table of four near the wall, which made it a bit tricky for us all to keep hopping out to the buffet.
It’s still enjoyable but I think for the price tag, it should feel a little calmer and more tranquil.
Next up on the gripes list is that it seemed to take quite a long time for us before any characters appeared and to see all four took us at least 90 minutes. Again this isn’t the end of the world but if you’re used to the fast-paced character turnarounds at WDW restaurants, then this is a little disapointing.
Lastly, although the food is grand, it’s maybe a little too grand for our tastes, I certainly did love the lobster but felt the main course selection was quite meat-heavy and just not really the sort of thing we liked.
Having said all that it was a briliant experience, the staff were exceptional and the decor was absolutely spot on.
I think the Royal Banquet is definitely worth it for people celebrating a special occasion or wanting a real treat but maybe one to skip for families just wanting a hearty buffet after a day in the parks.
